The question people most frequently ask is, "What will it cost?" Complexity is the main factor in determining price. A small change to one of my catalog masks should only add $10 to $20 to your order. A "small change" would typically include a custom color or a minor design alteration. Designing a new mask from the ground up is a lot more involved, and thus it costs more. How much more? It's hard to say, as each design is different. Complicated custom work can easily run into the hundreds of dollars. The following tips should help put things in perspective:
Some things to keep in mind when designing your mask:
Be clear about what you want.
Send me a picture or sketch if possible. The clearer you are, the easier it is for me to match your design. Remember, design time is a factor in determining cost.
Size and Design:
Large masks generally cost more than small masks. However, the more intricate the design, the more expensive the mask.
Colors:
Colors come in many shades, so be specific when requesting a custom color. It doesn't help me much if you say "I want a yellow mask." If you want a custom color, scan a color swatch and email it to me, or give me a Pantone color, or send me a link to something with the appropriate color on the Web. I've been able to match paints and dyes to customers' dresses and costumes this way with great success. If you see a mask in my catalog that you'd like done in a custom color, this should only add about $10 to the catalog price. However, the number of colors is a factor when determining price.

My masks usually come with an adjustable 3/8" elastic strap to hold the mask in place. Other options include:
- Leather ties
- Ribbons
- D-ring straps
- Straps with buckles
- 4 or 6-point bungie harnesses (popular with wrestlers)
- Handles (for those fancy masquerade balls!)
More options:
When designing your custom mask, the options are practically endless! You are limited only by your imagination. Options might include:
- Tooling designs into the leather
- Painting designs onto the leather
- Feathers
- Beadwork
- Trim (such as ribbons, sequins and so forth...)
- Spikes (various sizes, from 1/4" up to 2-3/4")
Payment:
Payment is expected before I start working on your custom design. I will work closely with you via email to give you what you want, and I will send you sketches and photos for your approval, when appropriate. There are no returns on custom orders.
